Movie Review

Gary is such a movie buff. These words are spoken between us basically every day of our lives.
Gary - "Have you seen (insert move title)
Marci - "Nope"
Gary - "YOU HAVEN'T???"
So anyway, earlier this week we watched The Graduate, which is one of Gary's dads favorite movies.
Now before I give you my opinion on this movie, I must warn you I'm going to go into deatail, so if you have any desire to see this movie, perhaps you should look away. First of all I really hated the movie. It was gross. A guy graduates from college with high honors, comes home, starts having an affair with one of his parents friends who is twice as old as he, then her daughter comes home from college and he falls in love with her. On their first date he is a complete jerk and she still falls in love with him. The next day he tells her about his affair with her mother, she runs back to college, and he chases her to win her back. She is not so compliant and she has another boyfriend who happens to be her fiance. So she marries the guy and right as they kiss, pervert starts screaming her name from across the chapel. So she runs away with him, they hop on a yellow school bus, and the movie is over. Pure and utter crap.

To The Zoo!

For anyone who enjoys the sweltering summer heat combined with animal odor and an endless sea of strollers and fanny packs...the Hogle Zoo is the place for you! Last Saturday Gary and I thought it would be fun to go to the zoo, but wanted to wait until we could get his sister Hali to go with us since her son is at the prime age to see the animals. First thing we did when we got there was try on hats.

Here is Hali, not excited at all that there is a tiger gnawing on her scalp.
I, on the other hand couldn't be more thrilled about the blue elephant fixated to my head.
The animals didn't seem to care that we each paid $8 to see them in action. If it wasn't against zoo policy I probably would have hurled some type of object at some of them screaming..."do something gosh dang you!" The following pictures were the highlights for me.

Cute and cuddly boys...cute and cuddly

Aaahhaaaa!!! Llama faaace!!!

It's a big kitty!!!!

Some people did not heed the warning on this sign, and I'm not going to lie, it entertained me to no end when people started to holler.

Gary just about measures up. He loved the monkeys and the apes most I think.

All in all it was a fun time. Should I ever plan on attending the zoo again, I'll wait until the fall. It was just too hot and I do not do well in the heat!

Oh Boys

From left to right ~ Jeff, Neil, Gary, Jordan and Mikey ~ Gary's wingmen. I can't tell you for sure what they are all looking at... It was really good of them to spend the whole day with us. It meant so much to Gary.

BFFF

These are my very best friends in the world! Kimber is on my left and Keri is on my right. I have known Kimber the longest...I think since around the 2nd grade. Keri, I didn't meet until the 7th grade. Anyway, I love these girls to peices! If there is anyone in this world I could count on, it would be these two!

I thought this picture was so cute! I look like a rabid squirrel but I still love it.

Bro Sunny Acres

Yesterday Gary and I went with his family to a peice of property that his Grandma Fifield owns right near Causey Dam. It's a nice little hamlet with lots of trees and a some open areas for such activities as horse shoes....which Gary's dad made me play. I would have rather read to be honest. They call it "Bro Sunny Acres" because there's an iron sign right out by the gate that should say Brown, but the "wn" didn't survive. Don't be fooled, these swings are not swingable, but doesn't it look like a pleasant place? This is the cutest 1 year old in the world! My nephew Calvin. I was trying to take a full picture of him but he kept walking towards me trying to steal the camera from me.

Calvin belongs to these people. Gary's sister Hali and her husband Marc. They kicked my rear at horse shoes!
And these are the people responsible for making us spend a whole day in bee infested lands. My darling momma and daddy Fifield! I love this picture of Gary because I swear my future babies will look like this! Cutest smile in the world!

Ricky!!!

This is Gary's brother Rick! He's on his mission right now and we miss him so much! His sister Marisa came up with a really cute idea! May I introduce the "FLAT FAMILY!"

I'm not sure if anyone has ever heard the story of Flat Stanley, but he's a guy who mails himself around the world in an envelope. I actually don't know the story myself but I think that's the idea. Anyway, we all got this little yellow guy to take around with us and he represents Rick! Rick took one with him on his mission to represent all of us so we'd all be together no matter where we were.

You'll more than likely see a few pictures with us and the Flat Family. Here he is golfing with Gary!
Rick left for Peru in March so we still have a little ways to go before we see his cute face again! He's the best brother in law ever!

Here he is with his sisters Marisa and Hali the night before he left. They were purposly trying to look silly but only a couple of them succeeded.

Vegas Baby!

Gary and I went to St. George and Vegas for our little "pre-honeymoon". Our real honeymoon will be in October when we go to Washington DC.

Gary had been to Vegas more than me, and when he mentioned there was a whole store dedicated to M&M's, I about cried tears of joy! YUMMY!!

We spent the majority of our time at Ceasar's Palace. I think we walked around for 9 hours straight!

Sadly we didn't get a chance to ride the big fat rollercoaster, but I put it on our list of things to do next time we go.

We really wanted to do a session in the St. George temple but it was closed. I still think this is a cute picture though.

Who Lives in a Pineapple Under the Sea?!

I took this picture of Gary sleeping before we got married, and I'm here to tell you, things have not changed much. Instead of clutching to his dear wife, he turns his affection to his feather pillow, adorned with a Sponge Bob pillow case. Adorable isn't it? I think so. Kind of hard to compete with but at least it's not a Hannah Montana pillowcase.

Best Movie Ever!

It takes a LOT for me to get a really good laugh from watching movies! I'm talking about the laugh that makes me rush to the bathroom and sometimes the emergency room. The last movie that did that sort of damage to me was Super Bad. While extremely inappropriate, it was extremely funny! Before that it was, of course, Blades of Glory! So my best good friend Keri presented me with a challenge this last week. To watch Hot Rod. I accepted the challenge and carried it out flawlessly on Thursday night. I don't remember ever loving a movie so much or laughing so hard that I was afraid I would burst an important internal organ! I urge all of you to watch it! I have a strong desire to watch it again soon, but I want to make sure I enjoy it just as much, so I'm going to wait for a while.

Let me leave you with this one quote.

"Um, I was gonna ask you who you think would win in a fight between... a grilled cheese sandwich and a taco."
